This unique Workshop and Yoga Teacher Training is suitable for all Yoga Teachers, Yoga practitioners, Body Workers, Therapists or anyone who would like to know why we get sick and how we can heal, applying the profound knowledge of Yoga Therapy and Integrative Medicine.

This 100-hour Yoga training course explores health and disease through an understanding of the Chakra system which connects and controls physical, energetic and deep psychological aspects of human nature.

Seminar House Jonathan, located in a quiet location, surrounded by meadows and fields, on the Mosel Heights, above Cochem.

Reopened in 2020 – after complete new construction.

A beautiful combination of wood and stone give this location a wonderful setting.

120sqm yoga room with a view of the surrounding nature.

The house’s own Philospohie Park invites you to walk and relax.

Costs

The prices are “All Inclusive”:

100-hour training, 3 fresh cooked, nutritional, vegetarian meals per day, drinks (fruit and herbal teas, water) and accommodation in the booked room-category.

Simply choose your room:
4-bed-room (with shared bathroom) – 1.300 € per person
Double room – 1.500 € per person
Single room – 1.700 € per person

This course teaches both evaluation and healing techniques as well as an in-depth theoretical understanding. Yoga provides not only a deep understanding of body, mind and emotions but also provides us with fantastic healing tools such as breath work, deep relaxation, Yin-Yoga Asana practice, guided meditation, nutrition, psychology and philosophy.
This course is certified by Yoga Alliance International.

The beautiful environment and excellent holistic cuisine complete the program and give this training a retreat character.
Upon request, you may also take advantage of personal treatments with the Teachers / Therapists.

Yoga Therapy and Integrative Medicine is not only profoundly healing but empowers people to take their health and their life into their own hands and make those changes that lead to health and transformation.

90% participation is required for Yoga Alliance International certification.

The workshop is taught in English, with translation into German (if necessary).

Gerry speaks English, German, French and Spanish.
Ariane speaks English, German, Spanish and a little Chinese.
(Participants can clarify everything during the breaks and always have time to talk to the teachers individually)

Full Program:

Assessment Tools
1. Palpation and reading of the abdomen, the back and the Chakras using key diagnostic acupuncture points for the evaluation of organ functions and energetic imbalances.
2. Observation and reading of the body including posture and movement. Yin and Yang within the body and mind.
3. Nutrition: Diet and Health .

Practical Healing Tools
1. Yoga Asanas and flows from the Hatha tradition and Yin Yoga: The detailed use of props; belts, cushions, blocks, bolsters, blankets and chairs to help each individual no matter what age or body shape to practice with correct alignment, breathing and ease.
2. Chakras: opening the Chakras, working on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies !!
3. Breath work or Pranayama, Meditation and Bandhas, as tools for regaining health.
4. Understanding the Yoga model of psychology: the Chakras, Koshas, left and right brain functions and the Gunas.
5. Understanding the role of the 4 elements, their relationship with the Chakras and the notion of the 5th element: akasha or space.
6. The importance of spiritual philosophy; treating heart and soul
7. Relaxation : guided meditation and relaxation; sensing energy circulation; intention, will power and letting go.
8. Basic Shiatsu / Massage sequence
9. Nutrition
10. Stress and stress management

Basic Anatomy & Physiology
1. General symptoms of ill health and how to cure eating disorders, stress, headaches, insomnia, allergies, fatigue, depression, trauma, addictions
2. The Respiratory System / The Circulatory System / The Digestive System / The Endocrine System / The Genito-Urinary System / The Nervous System / the Immune System / Gynaecology

10:30 – 12:00 am: Theory – Anatomy & Physiology / Assessment tools / Shiatsu / Massage
12:00 – 2:00 pm: Lunch and Break
2:00 – 4:00 pm: Theory & Assessment tools
4.00 – 6:00 pm: Practical healing tools: Yoga Asanas, Meridian, Chakra
6.30 pm: Dinner
8.00 – 9.30 pm: Theory & Practice

Gerry Rixen

Gerry Rixen

Gerry Rixen (Main Teacher) is a certified Senior Yoga Teacher, SYT, a Shiatsu Practitioner / Teacher and 4th Dan Martial Arts Instructor. Gerry holds accreditation with Yoga Alliance International (YAI), International Yoga Federation (IYF), Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, The Shiatsu Society (UK) and World Shorinji Kempo Organisation. He is also a registered member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).

He began his yoga practice with the lyengar method in London, developing his approach for more than 30 years along with professional experience as a teacher and therapist in Shiatsu and Chinese medicine.

Gerry is founder and director of SYM-Ltd, since 1997, and has taught Yoga, Shiatsu and Chinese Medicine in Spain, France, Greece, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Over the years, he has developed his knowledge of diagnosis, healing, nutrition, psychology and spirituality to create truly interesting courses and workshops related to personal growth and transformation, as well as the cure of chronic and degenerative diseases.

After completing his studies in Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge University, he worked as a language teacher and TV reporter / producer before devoting himself full-time to healing and teaching.

Ariane Hotzel has spent 15 years studying and integrating the holistic approaches of Yoga, TCM and Ayurveda into a modern lifestyle.

She lived with her family in China for 5 years studying Chinese Medicine, completed her Yoga Teacher training with Gerry Rixen as well as a 300 hour cours in Yin Yoga and Meditation. Since then she has been able to open the door to yoga and a healthy lifestyle to people from all over the world.
